CEU Course Description

If performed correctly, efficiently, and effectively, CPR possesses the potential to prevent death from sudden cardiac arrest and save lives.  The goal of this CEU course is to review the most important and universal principles of CPR, while highlighting the essential concepts behind its lifesaving potential. We will begin by reviewing the anatomy and physiology of CPR, followed by the indications and key actions related to the lifesaving procedure. Then, we will examine the history of CRP and the most recent CPR guidelines and updates. Finally, we will investigate the specifics regarding CPR administration. Principles for this course follow American Heart Association guidelines. Please refer to your individual state licensing board for specific requirements for Life Support for Healthcare Practitioners. 

CEU Course Objectives

    1. Explain the key actions of CPR that are essential to the ability of CPR to prevent death from sudden cardiac arrest.
  1. Examine three situations when the administration of CPR is warranted immediately.
  2. Identify the location that should be used when checking for a pulse.
  3. Provide the proper sequence for CPR according to the 2015 AHA’s CPR guidelines.
