CEU Course Description

Physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in the state of California must follow guidance from the Physical Therapy Board of California and the American Physical Therapy Association to stay compliant with licensing, continuing education, ethical standards, and regulations that guide the profession. This course will outline and detail the process of becoming a physical therapist and physical therapist assistant in the state of California, how to provide excellent, ethical care, and represent the profession with integrity and compassion. It will also discuss case scenarios of ethical challenges and guide therapists on how to utilize the Code of Ethics and core values to navigate ethical scenarios. 

CEU Course Objectives

1. Recognize the impact of modern communication methods used by physical therapists and physical therapist assistants
2. Identify supervisory requirements, jurisprudence requirements, and direct access for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants for the state of California
3. Recall knowledge of ethical issues amongst therapists including the delivery of services during the period of COVID-19
