CEU Course Description

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and motion capture technology is revolutionizing physical therapy, offering insights into movement patterns and personalized treatment strategies. This course introduces physical therapists to these innovative tools, focusing on their application in orthopedic assessment and rehabilitation. Participants will explore the science behind motion capture systems, from marker-based to markerless methods, and how AI enhances data interpretation and treatment precision. Through hands-on exploration and case-based learning, this course prepares clinicians to harness these technologies for improved patient outcomes and clinical efficiency.

CEU Course Objectives

  1. Identify the principles of artificial intelligence and motion capture technology, including their history, evolution, and application in physical therapy for orthopedic assessment and treatment planning.
  2. Recognize marker-based and markerless motion capture tools to assess joint angles, gait, and movement patterns and interpret data to inform clinical decision-making in cases such as low back pain, knee alignment issues, and shoulder impingement.
