CEU Course Description

Physical therapists and physical therapist assistants play a crucial role in the well-being of individuals. Understanding the ethical framework that guides decisions and actions is crucial. To provide physical therapy care in the best interest of patients. This course will provide a comprehensive understanding of the ethical principles and laws that govern the practice of physical therapy in the state of Georgia. It will describe the Georgia general provisions, the state’s Physical Therapy Practice Act, rules of the Board of Physical Therapy, proposed rules of the Georgia State Board, and the process of continuing education tracking in the state. 

CEU Course Objectives

  1. Identify elements of the Georgia general provisions of ethics and jurisprudence and the Georgia Physical Therapy Practice Act pertaining to physical therapy practice.
  2. Recall ethical theories and determinants of moral and ethical behavior within physical therapy practice.
  3. Recognize requirements of the online continuing education tracking system utilized by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy. 
  4. Identify any proposed rules on the Georgia Board of Physical Therapy website that may affect the practice of physical therapy.
