CEU Course Description

Low back pain is a prevalent condition that can significantly impact one’s daily functioning and quality of life. Sixty to eighty percent of adults will experience low back pain of some variety within their lifetime. This course will explore a deep understanding of the underlying anatomical, biomechanical, and psychosocial factors contributing to low back pain. It will detail various assessment techniques, including subjective history-taking, objective physical examination, and relevant diagnostic tests. Physical therapists and assistants will learn to differentiate between different types of low back pain and recognize red flags that may indicate more serious underlying conditions. The course will also cover a range of evidence-based treatment approaches for low back pain, focusing on physical therapy interventions. It will overview therapeutic exercise techniques, manual therapy approaches, and neuromuscular retraining strategies to address pain, improve functional outcomes, and strategies to enhance the overall well-being of patients.
