CEU Course Description
Plantar fasciitis (PF) is the most common cause of heel pain. The goal of this CEU course is to compare the effects of adding electrical dry needling into a program of manual therapy exercise and ultrasound on pain, function and related-disability in individuals with plantar fasciitis.
CEU Course Objectives
1. Describe what PF is characterized by.
2. Explain the process of needling therapy.
3. Estimate the effect size of pain reduction that trigger point dry needling has shown in patients with PF.
4. Interpret how many patients treated with electrical dry needling are needed for one additional patient with PF to achieve clinically important reductions in first-step pain and related-disability at 3 months.
5. Summarize what periosteal “pecking” or “peppering” is intended to do.
