CEU Course Description

Sacral and pelvic ring injuries present unique challenges for physical therapy due to the complexity of the structures involved and their central role in movement, stability, and weight-bearing functions. These injuries, often resulting from trauma such as falls, motor vehicle accidents, or high-impact sports, can severely limit mobility, function, and quality of life. Effective physical therapy management is crucial to restoring function, minimizing pain, and supporting recovery. This course is designed to provide physical therapists and physical therapist assistants with a comprehensive understanding of the anatomy, diagnostics, types of fractures, biomechanics, and common injury patterns of the sacrum and pelvic ring. It will explore evidence-based strategies for assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation, emphasizing both acute and long-term recovery phases. Throughout the course, participants will gain practical insights into manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and other strategies that can be integrated into personalized care plans to optimize patient outcomes.
